Cash flow forecasting for small businesses and the people who keep their books

See the week you run out,
before it happens

A profitable year can still leave you with nothing in the bank in February. Spondal reads the spreadsheet you already keep, works out what repeats, and shows you the whole year in cash — with the tight weeks marked before you get to them.

No account needed to look round. Nothing leaves your browser until you save it.

Profit for the year £25,395
Cash in the bank, week 5 £340
Why Quarterly VAT, in the quietest trading month
A worked example from the sample bakery in the app. The annual total says the business is fine. The week-by-week says it nearly isn't. That gap is the entire point.

How it works

  1. Load the workbook you already have

No mapping wizard and no import template. Spondal reads your line names and period columns, and tells you plainly what it could not read rather than guessing.

  2. It finds what repeats

Wages every week, VAT every quarter, insurance once a year. Those become rules you change in one place instead of fifty-two typed cells — and accepting them changes not one figure on your sheet.

  3. Work in weeks, see the year

Set the cash you need to keep. Every week below that line is counted and listed, worst first, with the bill that caused it named. Open any week to see exactly how it got there.

  4. Hand the file back

Export returns a working Excel model in your own layout — live formulas, not a dead picture of numbers. Change a figure in Excel and the cash rows still move.

Who it is for

Bookkeepers and accountants

Share a forecast with a client read-only. They can ask about a figure without being able to change it, and the conversation sits beside the number it is about. Access is by single-use invite link, so knowing an email address grants nothing.

Owner-managed businesses

Seasonal trade, quarterly bills and a bank balance that has to survive both. Spondal works from a spreadsheet alone — no bank login, no accounting sync required to get an answer in the first five minutes.

What it does not do

Said plainly here because finding out later is worse. The forecasting itself — recurrence, scenarios, actuals against plan, the Excel round trip — is built and working today.

Price

Free tools inside Xero and QuickBooks stop at about 90 days. Float, the market leader, starts at £99 a month. Spondal is built for the space in between: a full year and beyond, at a price a small business will actually pay.

Planned pricing: £25–50 a month. Not yet chargeable — there is no billing in the product, and the pilot is free.

Competitor prices checked against their own pricing pages on 26 August 2026.
